Here is a question to ponder: it is mid-September, so why is the AC on in most buildings, on campus? With the temperature reaching highs of 60 degrees and even in the low 70s today, some places in Connecticut, why am I freezing when I walk into almost all of the classrooms at school?

Call me crazy, but I think that there is something wrong with the fact that I am constantly shivering and wearing wooly-mammoth like sweaters to keep warm, and it is still warm outside!

Do people not like opening the windows for some natural, cross-ventilation, or does our environment have to possess artificial circulation in order for us to feel more comfortable? I feel like I am in an airplane, with the same stuffy air constantly circulating throughout the allotted space.

I simply do not see the need for the AC to still be in use, at this time of year. It is a waste of money and it can probably be argued as being a health issue.

In fact, I am not concerned about the coming winter weather. All I have to do to prepare for it is walk into one of the fine classrooms, in Vance Academic Center or Emma Willard, and an arctic chill comes streaming my way.

I miss the "feeling" of fall weather; the ability to wear jeans and a t-shirt. Now, it seems to me that if a person is wearing a t-shirt and s/he is inside, then the room must be cooled down, because clearly it is way too hot.

I am curious as to what others think.
